2023 Seed Swap

See photos from our 16th Annual Seed Swap & Giveaway

Sat March 4th, 2023 • Old Town Library • Fort Collins 80524

A big thank you to all of you who attended the Seed Swap & Giveaway this year. It was a huge success! We served around 525 people, and gave away:

  • 5,200 packets of seeds – tomatoes, peppers, peas, beans, squash, & more!
  • 134 gallons of potting soil
  • 1,092 six packs of start pots

We don’t have numbers for the amount of seed on the seed exchange table, but as you can see from the photos, people brought a huge amount of seed to share.

It definitely takes a village… we couldn’t have done it without all of our amazing volunteers – 30 folks in all! Thank you to each and every one of you that helped, you’re all awesome 🙂

Special shout out to Phil & Kelli of Crawford’s Cottage, they and their boys went above and beyond – coming at 8:30 am to help us unload and set up, personing seed tables and soil/pots for the entire event, then staying to help us clean up & load up at the end.

Also, to the CSU Master Gardeners from Larimer County CSU Extension who turned out in force, full of gardening wisdom, answering lots of questions, and just generally being super helpful.
Thank you to Gulley Greenhouse, Fossil Creek Nursery, and Fort Collins Nursery for donating the potting soil. Much appreciated.

Big thanks also to Matt Fetisoff of Northern Colorado Permaculture Guild and Jamie Poling of Compost Queen for giving their talks on Creative Water Reuse and Compost 101.

Last but not least, big, big thank you to Old Town Library/Poudre River Public Library District and Meg Schiel for hosting and for all their support promoting the event.
